There are a couple places you can monitor for news. http://www.pkunews.org/ is one, as is http://www.biomarinpharm.com/ and this board: http://www.pkuboard.info/board.php?boardid=3 As to a cure…it is possible that eventually a cure will be found, most likely using gene therapy. However, that’s decades away, at least, and at 34, I don’t expect to be too likely to benefit. However, there is research going on all the time to find better ways to manage PKU, such as BioMarin’s work on Kuvan (http://www.biomarinpharm.com/pipeline-clinical-kuvan.shtml), treatment with LNAAs (http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/botrender.fcgi?blobtype=html&artid=408272), as well as work with fusion proteins (http://www.jbc.org/cgi/doi/10.1074/jbc.M703367200) and a number of other areas.
