Hey Stephanie, nPhe is the amino acid that we can’t have because we have PKU. A rough estimate is that 1g of protein is equal to about 45mg of phe. It’s just another way of counting the foods. So your daughter would probably be allowed 180mg of phe if you counted in phe. I guess it’s just a more exact way to calculate food intake. I hope this is understandable, is this the information you needed?
If worse comes to worse, you could always ask your daughters PKU doctor or dietitian. They should be able to explain it to you. nBreanna n16 CPKU
