what phe level should a pku infant maintain? if my baby’s phe level drops below 2 mg/dl, can we breastfeed her more and take less formula?

The babies levels should be between 2-6mg/dl. If her levels are below 2, she should actually be getting more breast milk because that is what has the phe in it and that’s what will bring her levels back up. Low levels are just as dangerous as high ones and can cause a deficiency. If her levels were high that would be when you would have to increase metabolic formula.
