Are there any programs that I could join here in the southern state that could provide my child with money. Is it anyone that is collecting social security benefits for having PKU? Are they accepting this as a disability for a newborn?

I think you can collect SSI benefits for a newborn. A member of my church who works for Social Security give me an SSI application to fill out for Addy. I need to find the time to fill out. You can call 1-800-772-1213 to get more information. Good Luck. nBrandi

    Which Southern State?
I am in Mississippi – I know that some States have you go through the WIC program to get the formula at no charge or reduced. Though I do not qualify – I know this from the doctors here.
    See if that helps.
    Good Luck!
