    Hey everyone,
I am new to this site, My one year old daughter is PKU. I was just wondering if anyone has tips about anything or if anyone has a good idea about how to make a PKU birthday cake. I would love for her to be able to dig into cake like any other kid, so any help or tips would be great! nStephanie

Hi Stephanie, nYou could check out the recipe section of this website. If you don’t find what you’re looking for there, a google search for “pku recipes” will turn up hundreds of recipes. Some of them have phe counts for the recipe, and others you have to figure out yourself, or estimate. I imagine that most of the recipes for cake will involve special order flour or cake mix. I’m not the one to talk to about where to get all that, but you should be able to find a good recipe pretty easily online. nHappy cooking!

if you go to this web site you will find a great deal of cake recipes

I am a 40 year old woman with PKU and instead of making a whole cake I like to make cupcakes becasue I can have them one at a time and it is lower in phe because you don’t have the filling as well as you can figure out the phe in an individual cupcake and your child could snack on it later without figuring out the phe in the piece size every time.
