I hope the BetterMilk works for you! I am using PhenylAde and it is mild enough in taste that I am okay with taking it. Five years ago the things they gave me to try (a very brief period of considering a return to the diet) were way too strong in after-taste. Things are getting better for those with PKU. It makes me happy for the children with PKU now. They have much better options now and in the future!

I agree! Formula used to make me very sick to my stomach (as many still do!) We are lucky enough to have many different options now. I tried BetterMilk awhile back and enjoyed it. Thanks for the well wishes

I started Bettermilk about two months ago and LOVE it. I mix it with a tiny bit of juice and it tastes just like a smoothie. I also have a lot more energy & a lot less appetite, both of which are wonderful as I’m always looking for ways to control my weight on this diet. The only downside is that I can eat less protein in food throughout the day.

Hi Katie, I just received something from our hospital in Canada and if I understood it correctly, I thought it said something about the Bettermilk not having all of the amino acids and you’d still have to do some mixing?? Not sure,…maybe that’s only if you’re a baby, since we do go to a childrens’ hospital. ps…Thanks for writing on here. I often read your posts and other peoples’ and learn so much, or just feel supported in your advice to another parent Tasha

Thank you all for your feedback with BetterMilk… Fou- Yes it is a formula… Sar- I tried it back in January and loved it. I also heard that it does have some PHE, so less protein might need to happen with my diet. That is why I needed to go to the clinic to hear more and adjust some things…And Tasha- I will be drinking some Camino Pro (my current formula) and adding BetterMilk into my daily intake. I find Camino Pro drinks extremely convenient for when I am running out the door or at work.
Again – thank you all for your input!
