Back on diet – day 6

Whoop whoop! nearly a week! Well I feel bloody marvelous! I have lost the dry rash from my arms and face, I have not worn any make up for the last few days and I do not look like a zombie!! I have not lost my temper - once! I even laughed out loud at something on the radio - which I never do .. I am usually such a miserable git! Buuuut - I am still constantly full.. and I have loads of energy which is great - but I'm finding it hard to sleep. So , methinks I need to have my last - third Lophlex by 5pm at the latest. I think that these Lophlex are like a mega shot of caffeine for my brain. The no hunger thing is worrying me a little. I really have not eaten very much at all - but If I needed to eat my body would tell me wouldn't it? I think yesterday I had a bowl of rice crispies - with loprofin... a few cups of tea and then for dinner I had mashed potatoes and veg. That was it.... My thinking is a lot clearer, although just after having a lophlex I get an instant very dull headache at the front of my head. I drink loads of water and it goes pretty quickly. I cannot and should not have these on an empty stomach. If I do it takes me a very long time to get them down, and my stomach feels a bit queasy after. So far so good... will be doing a blood soon ... ;-S

    Hi Loop,
I was just wondering where you live? I was interested to read that you had been on Kuvan and wondered what country you live in. My daughter is 3 with classical PKU. We live in England. Every time we ask our consultant about kuvan we are told it is not available in the UK yet.
Anyway, good luck with being back on diet and I am pleased it is going so well so far. I hope my daughter will have such good discipline when she is older!
    Thanks
    Ruth

Glad to hear you are feeling better…. Your Lophex prob has calories and that is why it is filling you up. That happended to me when I first started the Camino Pro drinks. How many grams of Lophex are you drinking? Also, you may be experiencing a headache because your levels are probably dropping down — which it is a good thing — but sometimes if it drops quickly in a short period of time, headaches can occur.

Keep up the good work :) you will feel even better over time!
