Is it possible for you PHE Level to be too Low?

March 5, 2012 in Uncategorized

Okay, I have a question and I really have no idea of what the answer could be. My last blood test my PHE levels came back and it was 0.08 which is great and my dietitian still says I am doing great and to keep up the good work. But I was wondering if your PHE levels could ever be to low? In the past I have never had this problem before. But since I started my diet full-time I have been doing very well with it, better than I ever thought I would. So, if anyone could answer this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Kristy :)

Yes your phe levels can be too low. Your body has a set of normal operating parameters like a machine. If you don’t have enough oil in your car, over time your engine could over heat.

I see places where it says your normal PHE levels are to be 15-85 micro moles per liter. I got a full plasma amino acid level work up done to see where all my amino acid levels were and it did state the normal range for all amino acid levels but I don’t know where that sheet is any more.

Here is a link to one site which shows the normal ranges for amino acids

yes, your levels can be to low. When i was pregnant with my daughter i had the same problem. She was taking everything from me so they had to increase my protein because my levels were to low.  I know my dietitian says that they should be between 2 and 6 to be healthy and to start a family.
